Hearthome
Introduction
Hello everyone! I wanted to use this section of the website to explain a bit about my own lore as a watcher, some specific information of my kin and what it represents to me, information about biology and behaviours, what is my hearthome and how it is, different versions of "lore", and a bit of history from my own canon.
Description of world
My world is a minecraft world from the version beta 1.7.3. A ccording to the wiki, this version was released on july of 2011. However, I only discovered this version in 2024, when a trend in youtube started about creating beta worlds. I've already been tempted to create an older world for a while, not only because of nostalgia but because something was drawing me towards it. Something from within.
So I began gathering information. I began watching videos on the version, reading about opinions of players about which beta version was the best to start with. I decided on b1.7.3 because it was the last old version before going into the update that added sprinting and hunger. Because of this, beta 1.7.3 is considered among the playerbase the last "true" old version of minecraft. I've been playing this particular world for a good while, around mid 2024 or so. Specifically from july 2024, I think.
I became enamoured with the old textures, the slow pacing, the nostalgic music, and the simplicity of it all. I knew it wasn't nostalgia, because I began playing minecraft around 2016 or so. My first version of minecraft was one of the first pocket edition versions. I remember I began playing around v0.12.0 alpha, so around 2015. Yeah, that sounds right. So yeah, the familiarity was not because of nostalgia. It was something deeper. I don't even know why I loved this minecraft version so much. I didn't understand it back then, of course. I had barely awakened back then as otherkin, I was three months in, I only identified as a winged cat, which I thought was my main kin back then (funny in retrospective, because I'm a watcher in every sense of the word). I discovered I was watcherkin in october of 2024, and minecraft was really, really important to me.
We watchers need to watch worlds to survive. It's kind of our purpose, what's expected of us.
